Last Saturday the SFLS Faculty ( hundreds of us) had our pictures taken as part of the online Archive to celebrate it's 50th year. I had never been on the "football" ( read: soccer) field- nor had I gone what was beyond there. But, I spotted a little place with Palm trees and park benches ( the thing i've REALLY been missing- just a quiet, treed area to sit). On my home from a little walk to a neighbourhood I really like, I ventured into this part of the campus. Here's what I found:
You can hear the International students enjoying their game of "football".
As I made way back to the Dorm- it was getting dark- so I turned the camera off for a bit- I need to see where I am going.
I have NO idea where this staircase leads to....that's for another adventure...... But, you can see it's a nice little arboretum with a latticed cover and plants growing over top.
In this last bit of the video, I am walking to the entrance of my Dorm. I show a well-lit door-way ( glass) that always smells so good! Obviously the Canteen for the International Students on campus. Sunshine- my translated- tld me 7 1/2 weeks ago- it was just for the students. My (Foreign) Colleagues told me last Saturday " Oh no! We eat breakfast, lunch and dinner there with our Canteen cards from school whenever we want- there are "take-out" noodles every night- and if you bring your own container- you can take out whatever selections you want." And, they all agreed that the food HERE was often BETTER than the Canteen food at school. (Thanks, Sunshine..............)
