A Working Birthday………..but, not so bad!

I told EACH of my FIVE classes today it was my Birthday - but only at the end of the class. "Cici" in my PreJunior (Grade 6) was ALSO celebrating her birthday - as was "Jane" in my Senior 2 (Grade 11) class. It's a popular date!
The student presentations in my Junior 2 (Grade 8 ) class were fun this morning. Sure wakes one up at 7:55 a.m.!
We had a magician showing us card tricks- here he is with his magic wand
We also enjoyed "how to make a box"- pretty cool!
My favourite was (bad boy) Jerry on Archery. It was surprisingly well-organized and thoughtful. Sometimes, they surprise you…………...

Thanks for the many emails and e-cards and Facebook wishes- that was nice! My colleagues texted me their wishes ( we are all so busy and don't always see each other in the Dorm - or even at school). That was nice, too.
Adelia ( English teacher Murray's wife) is expecting her baby any day now. I sort of hoped it might be today- ( how auspicious!)-  and I have 6 hours to go before my birthday is done- so we'll see. In spite of their preoccupation, I got B-Day greetings from them, too. ( They remembered!!!)

Jo, Craig and Carly - thank you for the lovely earrings ( I cheated and opened the package yesterday - Sunday). Gorgeous long silver "dangly" ones (above) - with a card from Jo's shot in Foshan City - the ceramics capital- that we visited  in March 2012. Gorgeous.
The little drop earrings with the black stone I wore today to work. So cute! And, my ears are fine, fine, fine- (always a worry for me with my ear sensitivities - wonderful!)
Sunshine - my "translator" - surprised me with this beautiful evening bag and lovely card. What a sweetie! The bag is gorgeous. Hope the picture does it justice.
She gave me another "present", too! All of the levels I teach, write there "monthly tests" on Friday ( I had heard rumours of this last week), so I have no classes on Friday - SWEET! Trying to think of a close place I could go for a three-day weekend
