Answering the phone in "Chinese"

When my landline rang this morning, I thought it was Dawn from Canada, so I wanted to show off my Mandarin and said
"Wei?" Pronounced "WAY?" ( "Yes"  - but only for answering the phone)
So Sunshine was on the other line and she said " MARY - You answer the phone in Chinese????""
She was very impressed, especially when I answered:
"Shi"  Pronounced "SHH" - meaning "Yes, that is so"

She laughed and laughed.

We are confirmed for Thursday passport pick up at 1 pm. Can't wait………

Line 2 at the Shanghai Museum of Science and Technology stop is where we will meet up. It has one of the BEST underground "fake markets" in Shanghai. I might stay and shop afterwards….
